North Kona District Overview
Because of the rich coral reefs and abundant populations of colorful reef fish and other marine life in its nearshore waters, the North Kona coast is also fast becoming an internationally popular snorkeling and scuba diving destination.
Many ancient historical sites can still be visited along the coast and even within the town of Kailua Kona.
The town of Kailua Kona also has the second largest airport on the island and accepts flights from neighboring islands as well as the mainland.
